Toilet Hire FAQ

Rabbit Toilet Hire offers a quick and easy portable toilet hire service in Sussex. The areas we cover stretch from Barnham and Slindon in West Sussex, up to Pulborough, across to Burgess Hill and down to Rottingdean in East Sussex. Included within this area is the county of Brighton and Hove.

As with all aspects of the work carried out by Rabbit Group, our portable toilet hire is provided with the utmost possible care and consideration given to the wellbeing of the environment.

For this reason, you will find we use biodegradable toilet paper and flushable paper towels, while all cleaning products we use are eco-friendly and our waste is disposed of in accordance with all necessary environmental regulations.
A night light can also be provided if requested which is powered with rechargeable batteries.

We realise that you’ll want every part of your event experience to be a good one (even the toilet facilities), for this reason, our toilet hire for events goes a step further in ensuring the best levels of user comfort. This includes the following:

• 800ml liquid hand soap
• Quickscent Event blue tab deodorizer
• Scent disc
• Night light (optional extra)

Our toilet hire prices for construction site projects are from £26 per unit, per week with a minimum hire duration of 2 weeks. This price includes your weekly service clean. Competitive prices for event toilet hire are available on request.  

The number of portable toilets you need depends on the number of workers on your construction site or the anticipated attendees for your event. Construction Sites:

• Recommendation: 1 toilet for every 7 workers.

Events:

• Basic need: For most events, you'll want 1 toilet for every 100 attendees. This general ratio keeps waiting times minimal and ensures attendees have a pleasant experience.
• Food and Drink Factor: If you're serving food and drinks, you can expect more restroom visits. In this case, increase your total toilets by 15-25%.

The minimum hire period for Rabbit Toilet Hire units on a construction site is two weeks. This is obviously different for events where portable toilets will only be required for the duration of the event. Upon hiring the portable toilets the period of hire will be agreed with you.

We have a number of toilets set aside for the use on events only and the time of year will depend on their availability for your requirements. It’s best to try and book early if you can.

For construction site hire, the toilets are added to the weekly service schedule and will be cleaned and replenished on a 7 day cycle. There will be an additional charge for a one-off midweek clean, but if the toilets need extra cleans on a regular basis, you may find it more cost-effective to have an additional toilet instead.

For event hire, these are usually requested over a weekend duration and are cleaned on collection after the event, unless a mid-hire clean is requested at the enquiry stage, this will add an additional cost to the overall hire.

The portable toilets must be placed on stable and even ground. They should also be located within 10 metres from the roadside, so that servicing can take place.

It’s important to ensure construction site entrances are large enough for our lorry to gain access. Minimum entrance requirements are: width 2.5m; length 7m; height 3m.

PLEASE NOTE that if you are planning to site a toilet unit on a public highway, that it is vital to check with your local authority as to the permits/licence you require first. We recommend that our portable toilets are sited on private land only.

The location of your building site will dictate any transport costs associated with delivering your toilet units. We charge for delivery and collection of our portable toilets, depending on the distance from our depot. This information can be obtained at time of your toilet hire enquiry.

We will do our best to fulfil all our hire requests the best we can and at present, we have an estimated response time from request to delivery of approximately 48 hours, however, this does also depend on where the hire location is as, if we are in the area, it could also be the next day.
